Basketball

NOTE: 2025 Season Registration is CLOSED

Basketball is a favorite sport among our athletes. Area 26 has both teams associated with high school programs and community teams for adults 22 years and older.

Teams and Competitions are structured so that athletes compete with other athletes of similar ability in equitable divisions.

Most of our communiy teams have been together for a very long time, so new players wishing to join need to have some skills on the court and a solid understanding of the game. We will assess new players at the start of the season to determine if placement is possible and if there are openings. Basketball is the largest sport in Area 26, and one of the largest in Virginia. Our season runs from November to the end of March, and we have several tournaments, beginning in January, and culminating in Basketball State Championships Note: Athletes must also have current medical forms on file.
