Fall State Championships
At the end of the season for most of the Fall sports, the best of the best gathered for the big finish. Here are the highlights...
Area 26 Competed in five sports at this year's games...Bocce, Bowling, Golf, Soccer and Volleyball
Bocce
We had a team of several athletes compete, and they performed teriffically.
Bowling
Our two teams dominated the competition, with Billy's Strikers taking Gold in the Unified Division, and Jaimie's Aces pulling in a Division 3 Silver!
SuperBowler Billy broke 200 (yet again...) with a 220 first round.
Golf
The Golf team competed in several traditional and unified divisions this year.

State Soccer Results
Highlights and features from our largest Fall Sport
We had 12 teams travel with our Soccer unit from the area for the Games. The details here were provided by the teams...
GMU Gold Rush
Division 1 Gold
The Gold Rush are State champions for Division 1, unseating Stafford Titans Purple after being on top for 14 years. This was really a team effort with five different players scoring all five goals in our first game. In the second game the team dominated from the start with a smoldering defense. Needless to say, the players were (and are...) all smiles.
Eagles Blue Devils
Looking Smart in Silver...
1st game was against a Stafford team with a 5-2 Victory. In the Championship game we ran out of gas with no subs due to all the injuries we had leading up to the state games... Look forward to next year already for a bounce-back!
Mason Green Machine
Divison 3 Gold!!
The Machine had a stifling defense holding both opponents scoreless. In the first game the score was 5-0. In the championship game we won 4-0. Scorers get all the credit, but the defensive players and the goalies were the heroes of these two games.
Condors
Bronze Glory!!
The Condors fought hard and played some tough teams. We moved from Division 3 to 2 for the Games... The day of the tournament we lost one of our star players for the tournament - Shon Gore. The team dedicated the games to Shon and they showed up to win. With heart, excellent sportsmanship, teamwork, the Condors won Bronze.
GMU Patriots
Division 4 Gold
PATRIOTS - Division 4 champions with their gold medals. They defeated in overtime the Virginia Beach Runners, 2-0, after a scoreless two periods. In the championship game vs. the Colonial Heights Blaze, the Patriots were not going to be denied, winning 5-2.
Eagles Orange
Report from Coach Kevin Murphy
Eagles Orange did very well in Virginia Beach. The team won the Gold Medal for Division 6. Eagles Orange had two very competitive games, and the team was very happy to have earned the gold. In their first game, the game was decided on penalty kicks. In the second, we prevailed in regulation, and won 2-0. Thank you for your help in making such a successful weekend.
GMU Mason Nation
Division 8 Bronze!!
MASON NATION received a Bronze Medal placing third in Division 8. In the first game, the North of James Bulldogs, an all men’s team, should have been two divisions higher. They were not intimidated and kept at it in a 6-2 loss. In the second game vs. the Crusaders we were evenly matched and Mason Nation kept attacking and defending well for a 4-3 victory and a third place final.
GMU Pride
Division 11 Bronze!
In Division 11, the PRIDE was also in a mismatch in their first game. They bounced back with a 4-2 win in their second, taking Bronze.
Fantastics
The Pink Ladies...
The Fantastics had a great time and represented Area 26, taking, 4th place while battling their hearts out in a tough division! So proud!
Screaming Eagles
Bronze medal winners.
REAL Drama...our second game went to overtime before the Screaming Eagles pulled out the victory to bring back Bronze!
Volleyball
The Warhawks and Nighthawks both made strong showings in competitive divisions this year. Our Warhawks took Silver overall, after facing down a 14-year Division 1 team, and the Nighthawks played at half-strength due to illness and scheduling conflicts, but brought home a Bronze nonetheless!!
